Description

"Jedi Exile; Beloved of the Force"

After rebuilding the Jedi Order, the Lost Jedi who learned from the Exile commissioned a statue in her honor, meant to stand in the halls of the Temple of Coruscant with the other great masters of renown. Not long after it was completed, mysterious phenomena began to occur around the statue—previously incurable ailments healed under its gaze, and destinies were rewritten for the benefit of whoever meditated near it. Sensing that the spirit of his master resonated with the statue and realizing that it might be exploited by individuals who lacked integrity, Master Mical moved the statue from Coruscant to the abandoned Dantooine Enclave where the Jedi Exile lived in her childhood. Light-sided individuals would be able to find it, but because of the remoteness of its new home, the statue's existence was gradually forgotten. Yet because of Master Mical's foresight, when Order 66 was carried out in 19 BBY, an event that involved mass executions of Jedi as well as demolition of various Jedi lore, the Statue of the Exile remained untouched.

I always wanted to draw her statue. I'd draw Revan too, but I have less affection for him/her because I never played KOTOR, I only played KOTOR 2. Someone else can draw Revan's statue. The Jedi Exile is mine.

Geeks with varying geekiness might recognize her dress as being somewhat similar to Padme Amidala's wedding dress. Considering that the Star Wars staff had to resort to bed curtains because it was so hard to find a material complicated enough for a lady of Naboo, I figured I can be excused from actually drawing the horrendously intricate designs. Besides, I don't think even Michelangelo would have been alright with carving that sort of thing on marble, and neither would any sculptor in the Star Wars universe, high-tech or no high-tech. Why am I drawing the Jedi Exile in a wedding dress? Um…I dunno. It looked good? I always felt like Padme's wedding dress could have functioned equally well as a priestess dress; if we added more color than just white, it would have worked as a priestess dress too (and nerds would know that the white wedding dress thing started with Queen Victoria and that traditionally brides just wore whatever was the nicest in their wardrobe). Oh man… "Beloved of the Force", that sounds like a Christian nun—the reason I put that phrase there was because I felt like the Force really did favor the Exile; she rejected it for 10 years and then it insisted on reaching out to her and making weird people like Darth Sion fall in love with her when this really goes against their character—anyway, it seemed like something her students and loved ones would put there too.
